Use JPG (JPEG) for photo uploads and software that expects a broadly supported image format. JPG output is selected above; adjust quality before converting your PNG files.
Photographic PNG files may become smaller as JPG. Graphics, text, and line art can show compression artifacts, so compare the conversion preview before downloading.
Choose a background for transparency
JPG cannot retain transparent pixels. Choose white, black, taupe, or a custom background in the conversion settings. That color fills transparent parts of the PNG.
The original PNG stays unchanged. Re-encoding removes source metadata, and optional resizing changes the pixel dimensions of the downloaded output.
